Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 July 2026

Acceptance of terms

PDFRelay is operated by Jounes De Schrijver, a sole trader (individual, not a company). By creating an account or using the PDFRelay API, playground, or website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Service description

PDFRelay provides an API that renders submitted HTML or public URLs to PDF documents. Access to the API is via API keys and is subject to per-plan monthly quotas. A short-TTL render cache may serve identical requests without consuming quota. An anonymous, watermarked playground demo is available for evaluation without signup.

API keys

You are responsible for keeping your API keys confidential and for all activity performed using your keys. Notify us immediately at support@pdf-relay.com if you believe a key has been compromised, and revoke and reissue it from your dashboard.

Acceptable use

You may not submit HTML or URLs that are illegal, infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of a third party, contain malware, or otherwise violate applicable law. You may not use the service to circumvent quotas, rate limits, or other technical restrictions.

Quotas and rate limits

Each plan includes a monthly document quota and is subject to per-key rate limits. Exceeding your quota or rate limit may result in requests being rejected until the limit resets or your plan is upgraded.

Disclaimer of warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Your statutory rights as a consumer to a conforming digital service are unaffected.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDFRelay and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable mandatory law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for breach of statutory consumer guarantees. Your statutory rights as a consumer to a conforming digital service are unaffected.

Billing and subscriptions

Paid plans are billed as recurring subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. Paddle.com Market Ltd acts as the merchant of record for all payments: Paddle handles checkout, billing, VAT/sales tax, and chargebacks, and processes your card data directly. The operator never stores or processes your card data.

Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if you violate these terms. See the refund policy for details on cancellation and billing effects.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Polish law. Polish and EU consumer protection law applies where you qualify as a consumer. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you retain the mandatory right to bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence, and you benefit from the mandatory consumer-protection law of that country, regardless of the choice of Polish law above.
